Mon

Monday 1 May - Perugia to Rome

1

MORNING

Board the coach this morning for the transfer to Rome, making a stop in Todi en route for a guided tour of this elegant medieval town. A collage of soft-stone houses, palazzi and belfries pasted to a hillside, Todi looks like it belongs in a fairy tale. Like rings around a tree, the town’s history can be read in layers: the interior walls show the Etruscan and even Umbrian influence, the middle walls are an enduring example of Roman know-how, and the ‘new’ medieval walls boast of Todi’s economic stability and prominence during the Middle Ages.

AFTERNOON

After free time for lunch, continue on to Rome and arrive late afternoon.

Meals: Breakfast
