Land of la dolce vita (the sweet life), Italy is one of the world’s best-loved destinations, and no wonder – two-thirds of the world’s historical artistic heritage is there. Tuscany alone possesses more artistic treasures than the whole of Spain, which is the second country in the world for cultural heritage.

Whether you crave culture, gastronomy, cutting-edge design, luxurious pleasures or simply the art of il dolce far niente – delicious idleness – this is a country for lovers of all that is good in life. A visit to Italy is a lesson in living well. Open-air vegetable and fruit markets, neighbourhood bakeries and fresh cheeses made daily are fixtures of Italian life.

Tradition reigns: Neighbours still meet in the piazza to discuss the day and the passeggiata (leisurely stroll) is still made in the evening air – preferably with a gelato in hand. From the mountains to the coasts, the emphasis is on simple pleasures and high quality.

Our main conference will be 6 nights in Rome with the option of joining our extended main conference for an additional 4 nights in Tuscany.

Our Pre and Post Conference programs offer the opportunity to explore various regions of Italy in-depth. Our two Pre Conference options include a 7-night tour of Sicily, a land of extremes and contrast and a magnification of all things Italian; and a 4-night program in the unspoiled region of Umbria with its rolling hills and classic hill towns, crammed with artistic and architectural treasures to rival bigger and more famous cities.

Our Post-Conference destinations include a 5-night program in Sardinia or a 10-night Mediterranean cruise from Rome to Barcelona on board the intimate and luxurious Oceania Marina, well known for its wonderful epicurean delights.
